Things you're waiting on
Waiting on an appraisal, a lender or a call back? Just mention it to Ava the way you normally would. She keeps track and checks with you when it’s due, so nothing slips.
How it works
Step 1: Tell her in your own words
Things like “still waiting on the appraisal for Rosa”, “waiting to hear back from the lender”, “Dan’s supposed to get back to me” or “the check won’t come until Wednesday”. Ava replies with what she’s tracking and when she’ll check.
Owe someone an answer yourself (“I’ll get back to you on their numbers”)? She’ll remind you once.
Your texts with Ava Step 2: She checks back when it's due
A couple of business days later (or the day after the date you gave), your morning brief or evening check-in carries a line asking about it. Never a separate text: one text a day asks, with at most two of these lines.
She asks up to 3 times; the last time she says she’ll stop asking.
One line in your morning brief Step 3: Reply in plain words
- “Came in” or “he called”: closed, and a related to-do is checked off.
- “Still waiting” or “by Friday”: she moves the next check.
- “Stop tracking it”: dropped.
- “Yes” or “nudge him”: she texts you a ready-to-send draft that opens in your own Messages app (when that person’s mobile number is saved). You send it.
Your to-dos while you wait
A to-do about the same thing (say “Get the credit report”) stays off your brief’s list while you’re waiting, and is checked off when it comes in.
See them on your dashboard
Your dashboard’s Tasks tab has a Waiting on list, with Came in and Stop tracking buttons on each.
Not signed in? Text “link” to Ava and tap the link she sends back.
What she does
Ava will
- Remember what you’re waiting on from what you already tell her.
- Check back at the right time, in your brief or check-in.
- Write the nudge text for you to send.
Ava won’t
- Text your clients or the other side herself.
- Nag: at most 3 asks each, in one text a day.
Questions
How is this different from setting a reminder?
A reminder goes off at a time you pick. Here Ava picks up the wait from what you already said, asks when it’s due, and writes the follow-up.
What if I left a voicemail?
Just a voicemail isn’t tracked. If you want it tracked, say “waiting for her to call back”.
Can I see everything I'm waiting on?
Yes: text Ava “what am I waiting on?”, or open the Waiting on list on your dashboard’s Tasks tab.
Still stuck? Just text Ava.
Send “Question about waiting on” to (415) 417-1011 and we’ll sort it out with you.
